Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions cover anyone who buys a cinema ticket or event ticket for Screen Machine mobile cinema. It also covers everyone who visits Screen Machine, whether or not they have purchased a ticket or other items.

Whilst every effort is taken to ensure the accuracy of information in print and online, on occasion mistakes happen. We take responsibility only for the material that we produce and publish.

Screen Machine reserves the right to make changes to the schedule and programme as necessary. This can be due to adverse weather, cancellation of ferries or mechanical fault, for example. We always aim to give as much notice of changes as we are able to.

Buying tickets

Tickets can be booked:

  • On the door, before a screening begins. Doors open 30 mins prior to published start times.
  • In advance on-line, via the Screen Machine website. Sales are available until a screening has sold out on-line, or up until 2 and a half hours prior to a published start time – whichever occurs first.

On-line tickets are subject to a booking fee of 50p per ticket. This fee is non-refundable. It is possible to voluntarily add a donation of either £1 or £2 per ticket to certain ticket types: ‘Adult’ and ’60 and Over’. All donations are very welcome, and are used to help cover the Screen Machine’s general running costs.

We offer a concessionary rate to:

  • Children aged 15 and under
  • Young people aged 16 to 25
  • Seniors aged 60 and over
  • Students – studying full time
  • Claimants
  • Disabled

Please request any concessions at the time of booking. These cannot be given retrospectively.

A discount is offered to Group Bookings: groups of 8 or more. All Group Bookings must be made in advance at least 72 hours in advance of a screening by calling the RSS office. Tickets are subject to availability.

If you are a wheelchair user, please make contact with the RSS office 24 hours in advance of your chosen screening. Depending on your preference, you have the choice to:

  • Make use of a specially designated wheelchair space, or
  • Transfer from your wheelchair into a cinema seat, and have your wheelchair stored away

Tickets are subject to availability. For full details please refer to our Accessibility section here

CEA card holders may purchase their ticket plus carer ticket by making contact with the RSS office 24 hours in advance of your chosen screening. Tickets are subject to availability. For full details please refer to our Accessibility section here.

All tickets booked on-line must be paid for at the point of booking. It is only when a payment has successfully gone through, that your tickets have been booked. You will know that your booking has successfully gone through when:

A confirmation message appears on screen, giving you your booking code

And, simultaneously, you will receive your confirmation by email. (You might find this email in your junk file).

When you attend the Screen Machine, you will be asked for your booking code, which comprises 7 digits – letters and numerals.

All ticket prices include VAT.

In the event that Screen Machine is forced to cancel any activity for which you have purchased a ticket, you will be entitled to a refund. Your refund will be to the same bank card/account that was used to make the initial booking.

Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except in the case of a cancelled screening or event.  There are certain exceptions to this, which are at the discretion of the management. These include:

  • Adverse weather conditions make it unsafe to travel to/from the Screen Machine
  • You have mistakenly bought tickets for the wrong screening and/or wrong location

If you buy a ticket(s) and then fall ill, you will not be entitled to a refund. We recommend that you instead pass your tickets on to family or friends.
