The Nightmare Before Christmas

With a story by Tim Burton, this is a delightfully scary story for wee ones – just perfect for this time of year. A visual delight. Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Hallowe’en Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Hallowe’en. When Jack one day stumbles upon Christmas Town, he is so taken with the warmth of Christmas that he tries to bring it under his control. But Jack’s attempts to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween Town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween don’t go to plan. “A true original” Film4 “Likely to appeal to grown-ups of all ages–while putting the fear of God into kids–it’s a perfect antidote to standard festive fare and evidence of the rich and varied possibilities of stop-motion animation. In a word, wonderful.” PG: contains scary scenes
