The Lost King

12A

From the team that brought you the highly acclaimed Philomena comes this comedy-drama based on the true story of the discovery of the remains of King Richard III.

Philippa Langley feels unappreciated at work, disconnected from her family, and lost in life. This begins to change when a trip to the theatre ignites an interest in King Richard III. As she reads more and more about him, Philippa believes he has received an unfair and inaccurate legacy. Encouraged by an imagined apparition of Richard himself, Philippa is determined to find his lost remains and restore his reputation. As she develops her search, she finds scepticism, sexism, and snobbery blocking the path. Not that Philippa will let them stand in her way.

Co-written by Steve Coogan and filmed on location in Edinburgh, The Lost King is an uplifting tale about a woman’s resolve to be taken seriously as she unearths an age-old mystery.
