Heartwarming drama starring Timothy Spall as Tom, an elderly gent who travels by bus from John O’Groats to Land’s End to take his wife’s ashes home.

As a young couple living at Land’s End, Tom and Mary (played by Phyllis Logan) had uprooted themselves and settled as far away as they geographically and emotionally could, following a tragedy in the first year of their marriage. Following her death, Tom takes it upon himself to leave John O’Groats and take Mary’s ashes back to England’s most south westerly tip. Along the way, Tom has a number of heartwarming encounters whilst, unbeknown to him, his journey begins to capture the imagination of the local people that he comes across and, ultimately, becomes a nationwide story.

“Spall makes believable if not always generous company, and you’ll found yourself cheering him on to his destiny” Radio Times

“Anchored by the gifted Timothy Spall, the film spins a wistful but emotionally resonant tale, infusing earthy wit into even some heart-stopping moments.” Shadows on the Wall
