Moon Dogs

Hugely enjoyable road trip comedy drama which sees antagonistic step brothers fall in love with the same woman. Michael (19) lives with his step brother, Thor (also 19) in Shetland. They can barely tolerate each other, but have been thrust together by their parents’ marriage. When musical genius Thor ruins Michael’s chances of going to university with his girlfriend, they embark on a chaotic road trip, heading off the island towards Orkney and on to Glasgow. On the way, they gatecrash a wedding and leave with the wild free spirited Caitlin, who dreams of being a singer and enchants them both. All three lead actors create characters which are endearing and real, and look out for Dennis (Star Wars) Lawson. “blend of mismatched-buddy road movie, coming-of-age comedy and youthful love triangle.” Screen Daily 15: strong language, sex
