Little Women

Writer/director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) puts her own artistic stamp on this adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel. In the years following the American Civil War, the four March sisters live with their mother in New England. Each sister is vastly different from the other. One by one they leave their family home to follow their goals and ambitions, pursuing the ideal life they’d like to live. Over the years, love and tragedy strike as we see the outcomes of the choices they make. This coming-of-age classic offers funny and tender moments as four young women try to find themselves in the world. It reminds us that marriage isn’t necessarily every woman’s sole aspiration, but highlights that very rarely do things pan out as we wish. “a wonderfully warm, funny and heartfelt version of Louisa May Alcott’s coming-of-age classic” The Guardian “If there were any remaining doubts that Greta Gerwig is a major talent in American cinema, put them to rest now.” Empire “If every generation deserves its own ‘Little Women’ adaptation, Greta Gerwig has done this one proud” Variety U: Very mild threat
