In the Heights

PG

Based on the Broadway show by Quiara Alegría Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote the much acclaimed Hamilton, this musical is perfect for putting you in the summer mood.

The inhabitants of the Washington Heights neighbourhood of New York City are trying to figure out their lives. The area is changing, and family and friends are slowly moving elsewhere. At the centre of it is bodega worker Usnavi who dreams of returning to the Dominican Republic, the country of his birth. Over three sunny days he and his friends consider their futures, until a dramatic event might just change everything for them.

Full of belting numbers and colourfully vibrant dance sequences, immerse yourself in this feel good film celebrating culture, identity, and community.

“the all-singing, all-dancing, feelgood film of the summer” The Telegraph

“a blast of sunshine, hope and hotpants” The Observer

“in body and soul, a celebration of community” The Independent
