Sheila Hancock stars in this inspirational drama set in Scotland’s North West Highlands. Following the death of her controlling husband, Edie rebels against her daughter’s attempt to move her in to a care home. Instead, she hatches a plan to realise a long-cherished dream that she had shared with her father – to climb Suilven. Edie packs her bags and leaves London for Lochinver, unaware of the magnitude of the challenge she has set herself. Over the course of the story, Edie goes from bickering to friendship with Jonny (Kevin Guthrie) – a local mountain guide she hires and together they find a way to get this very determined octogenarian on the path to the summit. Filmed mostly in and around Lochinver, and with stunning shots of the Assynt landscape, you are unlikely to have ever seen Scotland look better on film. Edie also challenges social stereotypes about ageing and friendship. Upbeat and inspirational. “a cinematic delight” The Wee Review “Sheila Hancock anchors the film effortlessly in a stunning performance that seems almost tailor made for her” Movie Review World “The Scottish Highlands, and most notably Suilven, are captured with breath-taking effect” Raindance Review U: infrequent strong language
