Bob Marley: One Love

Captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing.

In 1976, Jamaica is experiencing political strife. Musician Bob Marley decides to put on a concert to spread his message of peace, hoping to stem the violence. But he, his wife Rita, and his band survive a brutal assassination attempt just before the concert. Believing it was politically motivated, Marley, his family, and his band decide to leave Jamaica.

Away from his home, Marley struggles creatively, distraught that his countrymen would wish to have him killed. But through the support of Rita and his band, he starts to find the inspiration he needs to create an album that will take the world by storm and allow him to eventually return to Jamaica, promoting one love.

Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch give complex and captured performances as Bob and Rita Marley in this biopic that shows how a musical legend managed to see through a wall of endless violence and assure us that every little thing is going to be all right.
