Anyone but You

Bea and Ben have one date that ends poorly. Six months later, they find themselves on the same flight to the same destination wedding in Australia. There, Bea’s parents try to convince her to rekindle with her ex-fiancé, while Ben hopes to restart things with his ex-girlfriend. Despite their frosty feelings, the two hatch a plan – pretend to be a couple so Bea can discourage her parents, and Ben can make his ex jealous. But as anyone who’s seen a romcom knows, these kinds of schemes never go as expected.

Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, this romantic comedy is a fun and enjoyable watch that channels the playful spirits of the classic will-they-won’t-they romcoms of the 90s and 00s.

“one of the most charming big screen rom-coms in years” GQ

“made as fun escapism, and it succeeds at that” AV Club

“an entertaining movie that pokes a bit of fun at its own genre” The Australian
