Your Cinema Your Review offers you the opportunity to share your response to a selection of films in our programme, and to connect with audiences along our touring route. We want to hear from you whatever your response is. You can love or hate it, or can positives and negatives, or you might have a particular passion for the subject or themes. We want to share how you interpret the film, and how it makes you feel and think.
We also know that many of you hear about films by word of mouth, but how does an audience in Bettyhill tell an audience in Millport what they recommend? Your Cinema Your Review allows us to connect audiences along our tour. We’re keen to spark debate and a dialogue between everyone in Screen Machine’s locations, sharing different perspectives on each film.
How it Works
Each tour we’ll pick three films and invite you to share a review of between 100 and 400 words. We welcome kinds of opinions – positive, negative, lukewarm – so long as they’re a minimum of 100 words. Your review can be a response to an existing review, or a whole new take*. We invite you to explore the filmmaker’s perspective on the world through the artistry of a whole team of creatives, from the performances, the score, the cinematography, costumes, dialogue, stunts, editing, and more!
The best review will be selected by a member of the Regional Screen Scotland board and awarded two tickets to the Screen Machine screening of your choice. All reviews will be edited prior to publication, which might include removing any language we deem to be inappropriate.
We are currently closed for reviews. Our most recent call was for Jojo Rabbit, 1917, and Little Women. We will announce the winner of this round once we make our next call.
