| Frank To exhibits at the Kilmorack Gallery |

Glasgow-born artist, Frank To is going from strength to strength since graduating from Dundee art school. Four of To’s paintings will be featured in the highly anticipated show “Art and the Word” at the Kilmorack Gallery, Beauly, opening on 19th September. To will be exhibiting alongside several established Scottish artists who have created work inspired by literature.

| Cromarty Arts Trust Exhibition by Caroline Bury |

Caroline Bury, Cromarty Arts Trust 2008 Student Residency Prize-winner is having an small exhibition of the work she has produced during her residency, in her Studio in Cromarty, on Friday. The Student Prize is awarded annually to a recent graduate of the Art Schools in Scotland, and has been running for the past three years. Caroline Graduated from Moray College, and has been spending her month-long residency painting some beautiful figurative work, inspired by a ceilidh she attended in the town, and using mixed media to produce some dramatic landscapes.

| New edition of Leabhar Mòr to be launched in Edinburgh |

An Leabhar Mòr, The Great Book of Gaelic, is a major contemporary artwork, a 21st century 'Book of Kells', that brings together the work of more than 200 visual artists, poets and calligraphers from Scotland and Ireland. After thrilling audiences around the world, promoting and raising the international profile of Gaelic through exhibitions and associated events, the book itself has become a collector's item and is in higher demand than ever. In response to this demand, Pròiseact nan Ealan - The Gaelic Arts Agency are delighted to announce the eagerly awaited launch of the second edition of The Great Book by MSP Mike Russell at the Scottish Book Trust, Edinburgh on 29th August.

| Highland Print Studio "Original Print" Exhibition of Contemporary Hand Made Artists Work |

Original Print brings together a collection of hand-made prints that explore the diversity of techniques that come under the banner of printmaking. The exhibition includes screenprints, woodcuts, linocuts, etchings and lithographs by Highland-based artist printmakers and others. There are information panels on the main printmaking techniques and examples of tools and equipment used in the creation of original prints.

| Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop |

A Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop will be running for all interested parties on Monday 25 August 2008. The workshop runs from 6.30-9.30pm in Elgin High School, Elgin. Sports and Arts should provide a safe and fun environment for children and young people. Every week hundreds of thousands of youngsters happily and safely participate in the care of dedicated sports coaches. To ensure that good work continues in a safe environment, organisers, coaches and parents must be aware of child protection issues.
