Print availability – In almost all cases we cannot obtain films on their first release date.  This is due mainly to the cost of screening the film on its opening day.  The percentage of box office income we would pay to the film's distributor is so high as to make screeing the film financially impossible for a small cinema.  Big cinema chains get round this by a) selling lots of tickets and b) selling lots of food to offset the high cost of screening the movie.
