Years have passed since Elphaba aligned herself against the Wizard of Oz. Demonised as The Wicked Witch of the West, she lives in exile as she fights to expose the truth of his rule in silencing and repressing animals. Glinda, set to marry Prince Fiyero, lives in the Emerald City under the Wizard and Madame Morrible, serving as the effervescent symbol of Goodness to keep Oz’s citizens happy and comfortable.

But both are haunted by their separation. As Glinda attempts to forge a reconciliation between Elphaba and the Wizard, everything comes to a point when a girl arrives from Kansas in a tornado. Elphaba and Glinda must come together one final time and see each other with honesty and empathy if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.
