Following the conclusion of World War 2, numerous leading figures of the fallen Nazi regime, including Hermann Göring, the highest-ranking military officer ever, are held in an Allied prison awaiting trial for their crimes and atrocities. Determined to ensure this never happens again, the Allies must establish how to prosecute such horrendous acts with no legal precedent.
US Army psychiatrist Douglas Kelley is brought in to assess the Nazi leaders, finding the intelligent and narcissistic Göring particularly fascinating. Hoping to use these interviews for a book, Kelley gets closer to Göring, risking his objectivity and the unravelling of the impending trials at Nuremberg.
Russell Crowe gives a domineering performance as Göring in this historical drama about the famous trials in Nuremberg. Featuring an ensemble cast, it shows the Allies attempts to comprehend the Nazis’ atrocities and ensure they never happened again.
“Well-paced, expertly performed, and an urgent call to stand up to fascism, Nuremberg is a powerful, sweeping story of the attempt to bring an unthinkable evil to justice.” Empire
“A towering performance by Russell Crowe as the wily and charismatic Nazi Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring” The Observer
“Nuremberg is intelligent, serious-minded, impeccably honourable” Financial Times
