18-year-old Totone needs to step up and take care of his 7-year-old sister following their dad’s fatal car crash. Living in the Jura region of France, Totone has been used to spending his days drinking, flirting, and partying, and struggles to handle his new responsibilities and bring in a stable income.
When he learns that the gold-winning Comté cheese in the regional competition comes with a €30 000 prize, he concocts a bold and reckless plan to acquire high-quality milk and use his dad’s dairy to enter his own cheese, despite his inexperience. But holy cow, is it harder than expected.
This humorous coming-of-age was filmed on location in the Jura region of France, and features many first-time actors to give an authentic depiction of rural French life.
