Gladiator II

Lucius Verus, former heir to the Roman Empire, lives a quiet life with his wife Arishat in Numidia, North Africa. But this peaceful existence is shattered when an invading Roman Army led by Marcus Acacius destroys their home, killing Arishat.

Sold into slavery, Lucius is bought by the ambitious Macrinus, who moulds Lucius into a successful gladiator so he can use him to overthrow Rome’s tyrannical co-emperors. All Lucius seeks is revenge against Marcus Acacius, but the general is in a relationship with Lucius’s estranged mother Lucilla. When mother and son come face to face, she urges him to draw strength and inspiration from his father, Maximus Decimus Meridius.

Return with Ridley Scott to the spectacular, deceptive, and brutal world of Ancient Rome in this highly-anticipated sequel to the phenomenal Gladiator.
