Garret, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn are four misfits struggling with their ordinary lives in the ordinary world. That all changes when they travel through a portal to Overworld, a strange, cubic place where imagination and creation has no limits. There they come across former doorknob salesman Steve, who has lived in Overworld for a while and become an expert crafter.

But Overworld is threatened by Malgosha, the ruler of the hellish place called the Nether, who wishes to seize control of it and stop all creativity. The four misfits plus Steve must boldly use their unique imaginations to resist Malgosha and save Overworld.
