Opportunity at Timespan Museum and Gallery
 A curatorial group in association with Timespan Museum and Gallery is commissioning a double sited exhibition of work responding to the local 18 century Ice House. The exhibition is to take place in April and May 2009 and Timespan are looking for applications from artists.

Shape the Future of the Big Lottery Fund
'Big Thinking' is an opportunity to help shape the future of the Big Lottery Fund in Scotland. Over the next few months they will be consulting on a new six-year strategic plan, looking at the overall approach they take and the focus of their work. On Monday 1 December 2008 there will be an event at Inverness Caledonian Stadium for those wanting to contribute to the consultation.

Nairnia - Let the Workshops Begin!

This year’s community procession aims to build on the success of last year’s event by filling the streets of Nairn with colourful costumes, music, giant effigies and creatures from the mythical world of NAIRNIA.

A unique opportunity to support theatre artists pursue their creative development has been announced today. The two bursaries, Unplugged (£25,000) and Unleashed (£5,000) will offer two artists currently working in Scottish theatre, whether freelance or employed, some time to explore and consider new or alternative ways of approaching their practice.

Impressive Line Up announced for “Celebrating Simon”
“Celebrating Simon” is an evening of poetry, song, music and drama dedicated to the late Gaelic actor Simon Mackenzie. The evening is being launched at the Royal National Mod in Falkirk today (Wednesday). The launch will be held at a special reception hosted by two of the events’ sponsors - MG ALBA and CnaG - and by An Gaidheal Ur. “Celebrating Simon” is a co-production of Pròiseact nan Ealan and Highlands and Islands Theatre Network (HITN) and will take place at Eden Court, Inverness on 24th October 2008.

Out of the Darkness Theatre Co and Kathakali's Tour includes Elgin Performance
Out of the Darkness Theatre Company (ODTC) has an exciting opportunity to work in collaboration with Kathakali, a theatre company from Kerala in Southern India, on the Scottish leg of their tour. Tina McGeever, the Artistic Director met with the Kathakali Company last year. They were so impressed by ODTC that they decided to extend their tour to Scotland in order to work with the Elgin based company and perform at Elgin Town Hall on 28th October.

Romeo and Juliet production available for community venues in 2009
Charioteer Theatre has been commissioned by Piccolo Teatro di Milano to present a shortened version of Shakespeare’s, and the world’s, most famous tragic, love story, Romeo and Juliet. On return from Italy the production will be available for schools and community venues from February 2009.

St Kilda: A European Opera wins Best Traditional Event
