Most visitors to the Highlands and Islands will hope to have a chance to take part in a ceilidh and learn some Highland dances. There are a number of ceilidh trails throughout the summer which offer this opportunity, as well as many local shows in village halls and hotels.
But the Highlands and Islands are also home to some of Scotland’s best choreographers and dance tutors, and the Eden Court not only hosts some of the best of international contemporary dance, but is also home to a Dance Artist in residence and offers a Dance Higher qualification to Highland school pupils.
