HI~Arts has been working with The Audience Business (Edinburgh) and Glasgow Grows Audiences on a research project commissioned by the Scottish Arts Council to look at current audiences and markets for craft in Scotland, and the potential to develop new markets in the future.

As part of the project, the Future Focus conference was held in Birnam on 21st May 2008 to look at issues relating to market development for Scottish crafts.  The conference was attended by forty delegates representing the crafts and related sectors.

The conference included a presentation from Gerri Morris, of Morris Hargreaves McIntyre consultants, whose Making it to Market research study into crafts audience development in England has interesting implications for the Scottish crafts sector.  You can download audio from the presentation and Powerpoint slides below.
