Galway, Friday 18th April 2008-The 29th Celtic Media Festival taking place in Galway has today announced winners for Radio Documentary, Entertainment, Factual Documentary, Radio Presenter, Childrens and Current Affairs awards.
Celebrating excellence in broadcasting and film talent through the Celtic countries, the Celtic Media Festival will announce a total of 18 awards in film, television, radio and digital media before the festival concludes on Friday night.
A total of 444 entries were received for this year's awards, with the final selections chosen by an international jury comprising representatives from Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Cornwall, Wales and Brittany.
This afternoon's ceremony in the Radisson SAS Hotel, Galway was hosted by Daithi O Se of TG4 and Bernie Ni Chuinn of Raidio na Gaeltachta.
The winners of today's awards were presented with prestigious Bronze Torcs for Excellence.

Cúrsaí Reatha / Current Affairs: Tales From The Edge – The Children Who Disappear (SCOTLAND) BBC Scotland Producer: Lindsay Hill
Highlight of the awards ceremonies will be the Gala Dinner later tonight where the prestigious Spirit of the Festival Gold Torc will be presented alongside Radio Station of the Year, the Frank Copplestone Award for First time Director and the Jury Award.
