Willow Works showcases the work of Danish-born basketmaker Lise Bech. The work comes to AN TOBAR from The Hill House in Helensburgh, one of Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s finest pieces of domestic architecture and interior design, now owned by the National Trust for Scotland. Much of the work exhibited here is inspired by the surroundings of the house as well as celebrating the Blackie family, who originally commissioned the building.

With new work created for AN TOBAR, the exhibition celebrates the versatility and elegance of this traditional craft. The openness and simplicity of the asymmetric forms truly allows the technical ability of their maker and her respectful commitment to her materials to shine forth.
