Rock Ness announces Channel 4 broadcast
14 March 2008

Delighted ROCK NESS organisers today confirmed a deal to broadcast the music festival on the Channel 4 television network.

In an announcement set to further reinforce the meteoric rise in popularity of the monster two-day bash in the Scottish Highlands, it has been confirmed the broadcast will showcase the best of Rock Ness.

This will include performances from the confirmed 2008 line up which so far includes stellar acts such as FATBOY SLIM, RAZORLIGHT, UNDERWORLD, EDITORS, THE VIEW, ROISIN MURPHY, CSS and THE CRIBS, exclusive artist interviews and all the action from the various exciting arenas. This year Rock Ness favourites 2MANYDJS make a welcome return with their expanded increased capacity RADIOSOULWAX Arena and DAVID GUETTA will be flying in to host his legendary F**K ME I’M FAMOUS Ibiza club night in an exclusive arena. The popular NESSTIVAL Arena brought to the Highlands by the award-winning Bestival also makes a welcome return along with the might CLASH Arena, each of which promises an eclectic festival soundtrack.

The weekend’s on-site festival fun will also be captured and should prove highly entertaining viewing given the fashion-fabulous Dressing Up Tent, whacko Lost in Sound experience, Bollywood Cocktail Bar, Black Isle Pub and The Whisky Bar plus loads of other surprises still be announced!

Rock Ness is now firmly established as one of the most hotly anticipated summer music fixtures and is being staged this year on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June. For the third year it will take place on the shores of iconic Loch Ness, outside the picturesque village of Dores, four miles south-west of Inverness.

The festival has been widely applauded for pursuing an inspired music policy and the announcement today of Channel 4’s television broadcast cements its burgeoning position within the European festival circuit.

Jim King, Joe Gibbs and Robert Hicks – Loudsound and Slingshot

“It’s fantastic news that Channel 4 has committed to Rock Ness. This puts Rock Ness right alongside the largest festivals in the UK and it shows how highly regarded the festival and its location have become.

There is so much going at this year’s festival with great Bands and DJs as well as the unusual Rock Ness ‘wrongness’ that it’s going to make for a great TV show.

Channel 4 has shown their commitment towards broadcasting live music and we are really please to be part of their summer program.”

Rock Ness is presented by Loudsound, producers of Creamfields and the award-winning Isle of Wight boutique festival Bestival, and co promoters of Knowsley Hall music festival, and Slingshot, the Highland-based promoters behind the Belladrum, Loopallu and GoNORTH music festivals.
