She’s back! ...in a Christmas musical show full of fun for all the family! Katie Morag
(Nominated for the TMA award for Best Show for Children & Young People)
Katie Morag is one of the best-loved characters in children’s books, and she’s the star of the Byre Theatre’s Christmas show for 2007.
Katie Morag McColl may live on a tiny weather-beaten island, but there’s plenty of mischief to get up to, and Katie Morag is always up to something!
Two American kids arrive with their dad to find their Scottish roots, but Katie Morag can't believe how spoiled they are – and the visitors can't believe there aren't shopping malls on Struay. But as they become caught up in a treasure trail, Katie Morag and the visitors soon learn that appearances can deceive...
Meet Eriska the horse and the Struay cats, stumble across ancient ghosts in spooky places, and help Katie Morag find the answers to the riddles.
Katie Morag comes to life in a revised show with a fantastic new cast and new music.
WHAT THE PRESS SAID:
“Katie Morag and her chums are swinging pirate cutlasses, bouncing about and leading us in a jolly song about hunting for treasure... A lively, lovingly presented wee show about making new friends and not judging people (or places) by appearances” Mary Brennan, The Herald
“...graphic storybook sets – post office, pier, croft, castle and ferry leaving for Oban – bring little nods and ripples of approval...” Joyce McMillan, Scotsman
“...a cheery musical romp performed with bags of energy” Mark Fisher, Hi-Arts
KATIE MORAG opens at The Byre Theatre, St Andrews, on December 6, and reviewers are invited to a Press Night on FRIDAY DECEMBER 7 at 6.30pm (performance starts at 7pm)
