Scottish PEN and Moniack Mhor Writers’ Centre mark International ‘Day of the Imprisoned Writer’ with a special event in solidarity with translators, writers, and journalists who have been targeted for death and forced into hiding in Iraq or neighbouring countries, threatening both the individuals and the cultural life of the country.
Some of Scotland’s finest writers will read from their own work and from the work of Iraqi colleagues to break the silence. Readings from Waafi Raazak, Mandy Haggith, Cynthia Rogerson, Roger Hutchinson and Iyad Hayatleh.
