Scone Palace in Perthshire will be celebrating Christmas in style this year with a programme of festive events for all the family.
Enjoy a Christmas-themed tour of the Palace each Friday from 16th November to 21st December. Learn the story behind some of our traditions such as the Christmas tree, Santa Claus and Rudolph and his reindeer friends! The Palace will be open from 11am - 4pm with guided tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Admission: Adults £7.50, Seniors £6.50, Children £4.50, Family £23.00.
Friday 7th December sees an opportunity to hone your flower arranging skills and pick up tips and ideas for festive table decorations at the Palace’s ‘Festive Flowers’ Workshop.
This half-day floral art workshop will be led by Anne Buchan and will cost £30. Anne is an area demonstrator and speaker with SAFAS (Scottish Association of Flower Arrangement Societies) and is responsible for the beautiful and varied flower arrangements on display in Scone Palace. Included in this price is morning coffee, workshop and a light lunch in the Palace. All materials are provided.
On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December come and visit Santa in his grotto where he will be handing out small gifts to the children. A festive music programme will provide the perfect backdrop for shopping in the gift and food shops. Kilgraston School Choir will sing traditional Christmas songs in the candlelit Palace from 2 – 4pm each day, while Perth & Kinross Senior Brass Band and Perth & Kinross Wind Ensemble will also add to the Christmas spirit over the course of the weekend! (Sunday only)
On Sunday 9th December Santa will be accompanied by his reindeer on a parade through the Grounds. Join in the fun by visiting Santa in his grotto and the reindeer in their pen! Two lucky winners of the children’s puzzle and colouring competitions will join Santa in his sleigh on his farewell journey round the Grounds before he flies off with his reindeer to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas Eve! Santa will arrive on his sleigh with the reindeer at 1pm and will remain in his grotto until the final parade begins at 3.15pm.
