The cream of The National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland’s young musicians, will be leading jazz workshops at Lyth Arts Centre, Caithness from Saturday 20 – Sunday 21 October, in a new initiative, bringing together music lovers and musicians of all ages in an exchange of skills, knowledge and enthusiasm.
The weekend long exchange sees NYJOS Collective working with Caithness Big Band and the North Coast Jazz Band, in a series of workshops, open to the general public and designed to encourage the exchange of ideas. The workshops will be followed by performances from each band and a series of informal “jam” sessions.
Lyth Jazz exchange has been funded by The Scottish Arts Council, as part of Lyth Arts Centre’s Enhanced Music Programme. NYJOS Collective is funded by the Clore Duffield Foundation, through its Clore Performing Arts Awards.
