The Watermill Gallery is pleased to announce that artist, teacher and art patron Richard Demarco will be holding an exhibition and series of artistic events in Aberfeldy between 13 and 28 October.

Richard Demarco regards Aberfeldy as part of the journey he has made this year linking the Edinburgh Festival and the festival that celebrates Sibiu, Romania as the 2007 European City of Culture. He has been ever present at the Edinburgh Festival since its beginning in 1947 and from 1967-1996 was director of the official exhibitions of contemporary art.

This series of events is a rare opportunity for the people of Highland Perthshire to meet and engage with this outstanding ambassador of the art world.

Exhibition - Saturday 13 October – Sunday 28 October
Original works and limited edition prints by Demarco, along with works from the Demarco archive of the Edinburgh Festival, including signed prints by Josef Beuys.

Saturday October 13th
10.30 – 11.15am - Talk at The Watermill for children age 9-15
The Legend of St David's Well, Weem
Talk led by Jayne Pascoe and Richard Demarco. This will also be a prelude to an event for children on Sunday 14th

Saturday October 13th 4pm – 6pm
Lecture by Richard Demarco
A one-off opportunity to hear Demarco talk about his lifetime of involvement in the Scottish art world. Tickets from The Watermill, £3

Sunday October 14th 11am – 1pm
Children's art masterclass
A walk in Weem Wood for budding artists age 9-15 led by Richard Demarco. Places must be booked via The Watermill, price £10 includes sketching materials.

Saturday October 20th 10am – late afternoon
Malcolm's Army on the move – cultural tour
Richard Demarco will lead a tour retracing the steps of Malcolm's soldiers in Macbeth. Each location visit will involve short walks, with ongoing discussion about cultural links between the past and present, fact and legend and the environment and the world of the artist.

Places booked through The Watermill. Price £30 includes transport and a light lunch.

Sunday October 21st 11am – 5pm
Art Masterclass with Richard Demarco
A morning walking, gaining inspiration and sketching in Weem Wood followed by an afternoon tutorial session at The Watermill. Places limited, £25 includes light lunch at The Watermill.
