Hit Festival Show Comes to the North East
12 September 2007

Following a staggering sell out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, audiences in the North East of Scotland will get a chance to see TAG Theatre Company’s production of David Greig’s runaway success Yellow Moon. TAG’s acclaimed production will be in the region from 19-22 September 2007.

Yellow Moon will visit four schools and offer two public performances at Inverurie Academy on Wednesday 19th and Woodend Barn, Banchory on Saturday 22nd September.

This stripped back rollercoaster ride provides a brilliant hour and a quarter of fast-paced, high energy performances, complete with TAG’s full original cast. Yellow Moon follows the fortunes of two Fife teenagers on the run.

Silent Leila is an introverted girl who has a passion for celebrity magazines. Stag Lee Macalinden is the deadest of dead end kids in a dead end town. They never meant to get mixed up in a murder, but shit happens…and now they need a place to hide.

Yellow Moon follows Leila and Lee on their rollercoaster quest to find out who they really are. The play explores what it means to live in a celebrity-obsessed world and what it is that defines who you are when you’re 17 years old.

Greig’s contemporary slice of gangster mythology is performed with absolutely no set or props. This striking play strips back the layers of theatre to reveal a remarkable piece of storytelling and the power of great performances.

Yellow Moon premiered at the Citizens’ Theatre last year and since then has gathered interest from around the world, including endorsement from the British Council. TAG hopes to tour internationally with this play, but you can catch it now exclusively in the North East of Scotland.

One of Scotland’s finest dramatists, David Greig is riding high on his Festival 2007 successes with Yellow Moon being performed alongside, the National Theatre of Scotland’s The Bacchae, starring Alan Cumming and Damascus by Traverse Theatre Company.
