The MacDougall Collection is the legacy of one remarkable woman. Miss Hope MacDougall of MacDougall devoted much of her long life to the study of the working and domestic lives of the communities of the Highlands and Islands. During her life she followed an active schedule of collecting trips travelling all around Scotland. Over 30 years of collecting amassed 4000 objects that reflect the traditional way of life in the Highlands and Islands.
For the first time a touring exhibition featuring part of the MacDougall Collection will be on display in Argyll. The exhibition which is on display at Auchindrain Museum until 31st October features a superb Shetland lace dress and vivid red Baltic bowls and tells the story of the places and the people encountered by Miss MacDougall on her collecting trips. Entry to the exhibition is FREE for Museum tickets holders or £1.00 for entry just to the exhibition. Auchindrain Museum is open from 10am until 5pm daily, with last admission at 4pm.
