Another Time, Another Place Anniversary.
03 September 2007

To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the filming of Another Time, Another Place, Resolis Community Arts are holding a weekend event on Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th. The programme will include a schools event, a location tour around the Black Isle and 2 very special showings of the film in its original 35mm format. All this topped up with fabulous food, a ceilidh dance and the romance of Italy created by the Philip Contini Trio.

Another Time, Another Place is based on the book by Jessie Kesson and was set in the final year of World War 2. The film boldly explores the concerns arising out of a relationship between a trio of Italian Prisoners of War and a young girl stifling in an environment of loveless labour. The film, directed by Michael Radford attracted high praise on its release in 1983 and began illustrious careers for many of those involved in its making. Michael Radford went on to direct White Mischief, Il Postino and many others.

The project, This Time, This Place celebrates the art of film, the Italian contribution to Scottish culture and the Black Isle as a location for filming. Many of those involved in making the film will be attending the event including lots of local stars who played small parts. Local folk were also involved in providing hospitality, farm machinery, livestock and locations. Making props, sowing crops, creating weather scenes and countless other tasks.
