The new manager of the Strathpeffer Spa Pavilion has been appointed and began work this week.
Andrea Muir, who was previously the Development Director at Moniack Mhor, Scotland’s Creative Writing Centre, lives in Marybank and will be known to many locally.
‘I am absolutely delighted to be taking on this role,’ says Andrea. ‘It’s a real honour as the Pavilion is such an important place for so many people, not just in Strathpeffer but all over the Highlands.
‘The history of the building is well documented,’ she continues ‘and I want to make sure that we continue to develop the great work that has already been done since it was restored. I want to keep the unique-ness and make it THE place to be. I want people to know they can rely on having a great time at their wedding or party, or watching a gig or play or coming to an exhibition.’
The mix of upcoming events is something that Andrea is keen to point out. ‘We’ve got Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, the Scottish Ensemble, the National Theatre of Scotland and Little Feat to name but a few. The Pavilion is going to develop further what is offered to couples getting married and we’re very excited that we are in the final stages of securing a major conference event and working on a number of others. We are also planning a very special Hogmanay party.’
Spokesman for the Board of Directors, Margaret Scott said of Andrea’s appointment: ‘We’re really excited about Andrea joining us at The Pavilion. She is just the thing we were looking for. She’s got lots of great ideas and will be excellent at leading the Pavilion team in this new phase of development.’
When asked for a sneak preview of these ideas for the next few months Andrea smiles: ‘Let’s just say, they’re going to be big, they’re going to be clever and they’re definitely going to be fun!’
