Yes, it really is back! Fèis an Eilein/The Skye Festival is delighted to announce the return of the Great Gaelic Paper Plane Throwing Competition. Scheduled for take off on July 13th the Festival is packed full of unique events in equally unique venues around Sleat in South Skye.
Absent from the programme for a few years, the Great Gaelic Paper Plane Throwing Competiton makes its comeback due to public demand and this year, it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
All entrants to the competiton will be provided with the necessary materials and will be given a set amount time to assemble their aircraft. After that it’s simple, the plane that flies the furthest wins…The only guarantees are that there will be lots of fun and fierce competiton!
This truly unique event will take place at Sabhal Mor Ostaig (Scotland’s Gaelic College) on Tuesday 24th July and is only one of many “funusual” activites planned on this the Fèis’ Family Day.
This 16th Fèis an Eilein runs from 13 – 27 July in several venues and is based at Sabhal Mor Ostaig near Armadale in South Skye. It is packed with concerts, theatre, workshops, book events, family events and almost every other kind of event imaginable.
