Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers will be on tour in the UK in May and June 2007, with their full concert of powerful taiko rhythms, huge drums, highly choreographed movement and delicate flute, all presented in a spectacular modern stage show. To round off their Spring tour, Mugenkyo are pleased to announce 7 dates in Scotland - finishing with a bang on home turf!
Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers have spearheaded the growing movement to develop taiko drumming as a European art form, through high profile performances, television appearances and extensive touring. Performing over 100 concerts a year, the group have built a solid reputation for their hard-hitting energetic performances since their establishment in 1994.
Recent highlights include a prominent appearance with a piper on BBC Last Night of the Proms, a joint concert tour with the folk dance, song and drum group Hanayui from Sado Island, Japan, and the grand opening of their base: the Mugen Taiko Dojo, the first purpose-built Taiko Centre in the UK.
The 2007 show will include new pieces & arrangements, as well as the old favourites - sure to fire the spirit & energise the soul!
