Wasps Artists’ Studios seeks Artist Board Member
09 February 2007

Wasps Artists’ Studios is one of the UK’s leading studio providers supporting hundreds of artists across Scotland.

It is an exciting time for the organisation with the proposed £6.6 million redevelopment of The Briggait in Glasgow in partnership with Glasgow Sculpture Studios and the imminent opening of Fife’s first purpose-built studio and events complex, ‘The Steeple’ in Newburgh. We have also agreed a £3 million investment package with the Scottish Arts Council that will help us to dramatically expand our studio network, developing five new capital projects throughout Scotland in the next five years.

We are now seeking a full-time practising artist to join our voluntary Board. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the country’s most prominent arts and property professionals and, crucially, to have your say in the future development of the studio sector in Scotland. The role is unpaid but expenses will be covered and there are 4 Board meetings rotated around Scotland each year.

If you have strong links with the visual arts community, are passionate about the development of artists’ networks and would like the opportunity to guide one of Scotland’s largest arts charities, please write to Wasps Studios, 77 Hanson Street, Glasgow, G31 2HF or email davidcook@waspsstudios.org.uk  by 31st March 2007. For an informal chat about this role, please call Alison Fullerton or David Cook on 0141 554 8299.
