‘Terra Firma’ the hotly anticipated new album from Highland rock band Wolfstone will be launched at the band’s home town gig, The Ironworks on the 9th of February 2007. The new album the eighth in the band’s history is already being tipped up to be their best creation to date.
Founder member ‘Duncan Chisholm’ said, we’re really pleased with the sound of the new album and feel it’s our best to date. There was no pressure on us time wise for this album and I think that shows in its quality. I’m really proud of this album and I think for once it gives us the true sound of Wolfstone. I think if I’m brutally honest this is something I could not have said about previous releases.
I’m also delighted with the contribution given by Ross Hamilton in producing this studio album “Ross’s contribution was not just restricted to vocals and guitar. He has written the majority of the material, arranged tracks and taken on the production role” He‘s a talented guy who is wanted by many in the business and we desperately want to keep hold of him. I can’t go into much detail about this at the moment, but he’s just recently been given a fantastic opportunity to progress his solo career and our manager is working hard to come up with a solution that will let him pursue both career paths. So it’s a very interesting and exiting time for all of us”
The venue for the launch will be held at The Ironworks, Inverness and will be followed by gigs in Perth, Aberdeen and Glasgow. In the past record label pressures have seen the band launch their album in the USA, but this was certainly not an option the band were going to consider during Highland 2007.
Band Manager, ‘Neil MacRae’ said, it’s no coincidence that we have chosen to launch our album in our home town of Inverness during Highland 2007. We were due to launch our album at the end of 2006 but decided to hold it back purposely. There a lot of great things happening in this area this year, including some fantastic music events, some of which we are involved in. Launching the album in Inverness is our way of showing our support to our hometown at the start of a very important year as Scotland celebrates culture in the Highlands.
The Scottish venues and dates are as follows:
9th February - The Ironworks, Inverness 10th February - Perth Concert Hall, Perth 16th February - The Lemontree, Aberdeen 17th February - The Ferry, Glasgow |
