The NESTA Starter for 6 project in Scotland went live on 1st November 2006 and they are accepting applications from innovative business ideas/early trading businesses in Science, Technology and/or the Creative Industries (and those who work across these sectors). The Starter for 6 project is offering:
- Idea Generation and Refinement workshops- to get people networking/generating and refining their existing business models- Feb 6/7/8th in Dundee, Glasgow and Inverness
- 4 days of NESTA enterprise training (1 day per month- March- June in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Stirling) and expenses of £250
- Professional mentoring support
- Opportunity to bid for up to £10,000 grant support in the business (£180k of NESTA funds are available each year)
- On-line community support
They want to work alongside partner agencies in Scotland to ensure that they fully support these businesses. Starter for 6 is already connected to Highlands and Islands Enterprise and 6 Cities Design Festival as co-partners and Cultural Enterprise Office and ICASS who will be offering pre-application support for the businesses. Applications will close on Feb 12th 2007.
