As part of next year’s International Women’s Day Elgin Community Centre and the Y Project are joining forces to create a programme of events in March.

Part of the planned programme is a production of ‘Fit Angels’ a light-hearted comedy with a local setting and featuring an all female cast of characters. ‘Fit Angels’ was originally written in 1991 for a women’s group from Birkenhills in Aberdeenshire and went on to win a regional drama competition.

The play, which lasts about 30 minutes, is an ideal opportunity ‘to have a go’ at performing for those with little or no experience. The project will be fun and an opportunity to develop skills and confidence in a relaxed environment.

The search is now on for willing participants to get involved in the project. An initial workshop will be held on Thursday 16 November 2006 in Elgin Community Centre from 7 pm – 9 pm. Rehearsals will run in the New Year with performances scheduled around 8th to 10th March 2007.
