Several people or organisations associated with Macmeanmna have been nominated for this year’s Scots Trad Music Awards. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday 2 December at The Nevis Centre in Fort William.
Young Gaelic Singer Jenna Cumming (featured on Kintulavig [SKYECD36]) has been nominated in the Up and Coming Artist of the Year category. Dòchas (featured on Dòchas [SKYECD23] and An dàrna umhail [SKYECD34] have been nominated as Scottish Folk Band of the Year.
The music festival, Blas www.blas-festival.com organised by Fèisean nan Gàidheal in partnership with the Promoters’ Arts Network and the Highland Council has been nominated under the Event of the Year section, and Fèisean nan Gàidheal itself, with whom Arthur Cormack works (i.e. The fèis movement as a whole – for those you not familiar check out www.feisean.org has been nominated as Community Project of the Year.
