06 September 2006
Tickets for the Alabama 3 ‘acoustic and unplugged’ gig in the North Star, Lerwick on Thursday 21st September go on sale from Islesburgh Community Centre this Friday 8 September 2006 at 9am.
It is now expected that the support band with Alabama 3 on their wider UK tour, ‘Hey Negrita’, will also make the trip north to appear at the gig, together with a local support act.
Anyone over 14 will be able to attend the show, but no-one under 18 will have access to the licensed bar in the venue. Special arm bands will be issued to everyone over 18 to allow them bar access, while an alcohol free bar will be available for those under legal drinking age.
Photo ID will be required at the door on the night and will also be necessary for all those under the age of 18 at time of ticket purchase. This will allow them to purchase tickets at concession rates.
Davie Gardner, Music Development Officer with Shetland Arts, the promoters of the concert, said “I’m very pleased that we have been granted permission to allow younger music fans into this gig. It’s a great chance for them to see one of the UK top and most innovative live acts in action on a local stage. Special arrangements have been agreed to ensure that everyone can enjoy the show in a safe and sensible manner so it should indeed be a night to remember”.
