BBC New Talent, in conjunction with BBC Radio 2, is giving non-professional singers and performers the opportunity to compete for a place in the acclaimed BBC Radio 2 Voice of Musical Theatre competition. The competition is an event for professional performers that celebrates the best of musical theatre, but for the first time non-professional singers and performers are being offered the chance to take part. A series of auditions and master classes will provide all entrants with the invaluable experience of working with and performing in front of top industry professionals. Fifteen people will be selected to receive three days of intensive quality voice and performance coaching, five of whom will then take part in the preliminary round of the BBC Radio 2 Voice of Musical Theatre.

Auditions are taking place across the UK, including one Scottish venue - Hilton Hotel, Glasgow on Sunday 23 July 2006.
