Best-selling author Laura Marney, who has been described as one of the exciting new voices on the Scottish literary scene and, a totally new voice in comic fiction will be talking at Buckie Library on Thursday 22nd June 2006 8pm-9pm.
Laura Marney was born in Glasgow and is a graduate of the Glasgow and Strathclyde Mlitt Creative writing course. Many of her short stories have been published in magazines and anthologies and broadcast on the radio.
When it was published in 2004, her first novel ‘No Wonder I need a Drink’ was Waterstones book of the month and remains a best-seller. Her second novel, ‘Nobody Loves a Ginger Baby was published in 2005 and her latest, ‘Only Strange People go to Church’ will be published in July.
To have such an exciting author visiting and speaking in Buckie is a great opportunity for local people to hear about the process of writing fiction.
