Voice and Chorus workshop with Charioteer Theatre Company
24 March 2006

Charioteer Theatre, in collaboration with Moray Council, are running a 7 day acting course based on 'Children's Crusade' by Bertolt Brecht at the Moray Music Centre in Elgin from 17-23 April 2006.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The course will be based on an exploration of ensemble acting in chorus. Students will explore:

  • Improvisation skills
  • Voice training
  • Speaking in Chorus: Techniques
  • Body expression
  • Rhythm

The course will use Bertolt Brecht’s famous poem to study group improvisation and explore the creative possibilities that ensemble interpretation can offer. Participants will discover what it means to be connected both with the ensemble and with a space. Special attention will be given to the use of voice and sound in chorus, and the expression of individual identity in building a group performance. Sessions will be organised so that participants will receive tuition and have the time to put it into practice. Participants will receive the text via email or post and be required to learn it by heart before the beginning of the course.
