Possibly Aberdeen's noisiest band Project Ven-Hell are hitting the road and come to Madhatters in Inverness on Fri 10 Feb. They will be touring the release of their new album 'I feel back what they're looking at me for' released by Valentine Bitch Records (http://www.valentinebitch.co.uk/)
Vocalist Stephen Hines explains how the band came together "We formed as a small project back in September 2004, coming together from already established bands such as Copy Haho and Masamune and after a few months started playing jumbled up punk style shows"
Things picked up from there and Project Ven-Hell have supported bands such as Part Chimp (Mogwai's rock action label), The Peppermints (part of the Animal Collective), Acoustic Ladyland (sister band of Mercury Music prize nominees Polar Bear) and The Beautiful New Born Children (Domino Records).
Stephen Haines described the band's sound "If you haven't heard us before we have a strange blend of music....mostly likened to bands such as Lightning Bolt, Fugazi, and The Blood Brothers."
Most recently Hines has been booked to play the SxSw festival in Austin, doing guest vocals for the Beautiful New Born Children (Domino Records), this will see him playing with bands such as the Artic Monkeys and Test Icicles.
The tour sees the band play the following dates:
10th Feb Mad Hatters Inverness w/Stolen Order
11th Feb Captain Tom's Aberdeen w/Shutter (Everyone who attends will receive a pass for the aftershow party at Lo Down nightclub)
12th Feb The Doghouse Dundee w/Perineum
13th Feb The Subway Edinburgh w/The Stepdads
14th Feb Stereo Glasgow w/Wall Street Ammunition Hero
Touring support for all dates is provided by Glasgow trio Stars Kill who are influenced by bands such as Shellac and Big Black, last November they released a limited edition clear vinyl 7" through Pharmacie Records after recording with Andy Miller at Chem 19 Studios.
