But don't be put off by the likes of X Factor judges - these auditions are NOT scary. They are fun workshop days with lots of team work and NO need to learn an audition piece - if you’re aged 11-21, this is a unique opportunity to show off your talent, realise your potential and gain that extra bit of confidence!

As a nationwide organisation, Youth Music Theatre: UK are very keen to attract young people from different areas and for the second year running we are coming to the Highlands with our national auditions programme specifically aimed at young people from the area. Auditions will be held at Kenneth Street Hall in Inverness on 12th February (to book an audition young people should visit our website www.youth-music-theatre.org.uk then call them on 0870 240 5057).

Successful auditionees will take part in seven musical theatre productions taking place during the summer holidays. Projects will be held in different cities across the UK and include Frankenstein, a theatrical version of the fascinating story by Mary Shelley, The Stones Are Hatching, a musical adaptation of Geraldine McCaughrean’s novel and The Last Tango, a new musical based on the novel The Girl from the Golden Horn by Kurban Said and featuring music by Serbian composer Boris Kovac.
