Scottish Artist, Malize McBride, is due to exhibit her new body of work, ‘Ice and Light – Antarctica’, in Perthshire’s exciting new art gallery in Aberfeldy Watermill, from Saturday 25th February until Saturday 2nd April. The work completes a two-year project, which began with her polar journey in 2004.
The collection, which includes Malize’s field sketches, oils, pastels and watercolours, explores the intensity of the Antarctic. Her work not only creates a feeling of peace and stillness in the observer, but also strongly evokes the senses.
The artist’s passion for the Antarctic is clearly projected through her work. “My strongest impressions were the silence, the scale and beauty of the icebergs, and the absence of human presence,” explained Malize.
The Gallery is open every day 10.00 to 5 pm, Sundays 12pm – 5pm.
