Musicians at all stages in their career can develop their skills and find out how to plug into the music industry at a forthcoming seminar day at Perth Concert Hall on Friday 3 February 2006.
Organised by the Musicians' Union as part of its Learning Works for All programme of learning events, the event aims to give musicians a broad-based understanding of some of the key areas of the music industry.
Presentations covering topics ranging from community music and copyright and to the role of key industry organizations and what makes a good contract will be supplemented by general advice panel sessions and the chance to network with experienced music industry professionals. Speakers include the Musicians' Union's Dave Arcari and Duncan McCrone of MCPS Scotland.
The event is free for Musicians' Union (MU) members and runs from 10am to 5.30pm - registration is open from 9.30am. Non-MU members are welcome but will be charged a nominal £5 registration fee. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Registration forms and more information is available by calling Dave Arcari or Stephanie Marron at the Musicians' Union Glasgow office on 0141 248 3723.
Learning Works for All is organised by the Musicians' Union and supported by the STUC and the Scottish Union Learning Fund (SULF).
