This year, Horsecross is organising a Perth Hogmanay event to remember.
Many a New Year has passed with other places in Scotland grabbing the lime-light and enjoying the title as being “the place to be” to enjoy a fun-filled Hogmanay.
Well, Perth can party too!
As part of the concert hall’s first Hogmanay celebration, the concert hall will be hosting a special Hogmanay event which will include a four course dinner, guest DJs, cabaret dancers, funky ceilidh band, whisky and champagne bar, lone piper and live broadcast on Radio Tay to name but a few.
In addition to having the main ingredients to making a perfect festive shin-dig, the evening will also be accompanied with a spectacular free laser and firework show, which all residents of Perth and Kinross and visitors are welcome to enjoy.
Using a variety of entertainment mediums, the laser show promises to create an unforgettable evening’s entertainment.
At the bells, this stunning and dramatic show will be the talking point of the city with a magnificent laser, light and firework spectacle. The lasers, mirrors and smoke machines will produce amazing intricate patterns of techno-coloured lights which will offer a truly atmospheric visual experience. The last few minutes of the display will use an array of pyrotechnics to create an overwhelming finale to the evening.
The Hogmanay party at Perth Concert Hall has been on sale for a number of weeks and is selling out fast. The evening carries an option of a four course dinner and party pass for £60.00 or you just pay for entry to the party £25.
The event, which is the first of its kind in the Fair City, will give people the opportunity to wander through the concert hall sampling the unique atmosphere in a number of different areas. Whether you want to party hard, or just socialise with friends and enjoy the merry mood – there’s something for everyone at Perth’s concert hall this Hogmanay.
The auditorium is an ideal space for dancing with funky ceilidh band Teannaich. This five piece band will provide a lively, entertaining evening of ceilidh dancing with music influences from Jazz, Rock, Funk and Folk combined with solid base of traditional Scottish and Irish folk tunes.
In the roomy foyer area of the concert hall, we’ll have some of the country’s best entertainers launching Perth into 2006 - DJ James Longworth and DJ Michelle, Alan Cross compering as well as entertaining dancers. Expect a wide range of music for all tastes expertly mixed and interspersed with live cabaret, song and dance.
If you fancy a break away from the dance spaces and perhaps fancy a special sort of “tipple” then try out the Aberfeldy Whisky Bar or a glass or two from the Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar.
In addition, Perth will have four of Scotland’s top bartenders, also known as the celebrity chefs of the cocktail world. They will be providing exciting entertainment while producing sumptuous cocktails in the chilled bar lounge atmosphere. A great place to chat and see in the New Year.
At the bells, there will also be the essential component to the New Year – the Lone Piper. The Piper will walk through the venue finishing up on the balcony of the auditorium.
All this happening inside matched with the unforgettable laser and firework show outside -what better way to celebrate the old and see in the new!
