CosmicSky comes to Perth on Sat 26 Nov and offers audiences the chance to sit, relax and immerse in the wonders of the universe. It merges the beauty of nature with the language of science, art, poetry and philosophy.
This touring cosmic delight brings a specially built domed theatre complete with the latest projection technology, surround sound and imagery and can seat up to 25 people. The two shows on offer will provide a truly blissful experience right in the centre of the concert hall’s foyer.
CosmicSky is a collaboration between planetarium educator and artist, Dr Gill Russell from Glenkindie; astronomer Dr Francisco Diego from London and poet, Brian Hill from Forres.
“The shows are contemplative meditative experiences that will give you a profound appreciation of the environment and their place within it,” says Gill Russell of CosmicSky. “It’s a great experience and no-one needs previous scientific knowledge to appreciate it, it’s a calming event.”
The two shows are entitled The Beginning and Forever and Celestial Cycles.
The Beginning and Forever explores the story of the stars and their link to us. It helps people have a deeper understanding as to where the stars come from, how long they have existed and how the universe began. In searching for the origin of the universe, the diverse myths of creation illustrate the fantastic depths of the human imagination.
Celestial Cycles offers up a simple contemplative meditative show, that lets you really experience and connect with the beauty and rhythmic cycles of our skies through an unforgettable audio-visual experience. From eternal sunrises, the predictable cycles of the moon, the seasonal motions of the stars, the movements of the planets to spectacular events such as solar eclipses, the appearance of a comet or the dancing of the aurora in our dazzling winter skies.
Don’t miss this Scottish exclusive and take 25 minutes to explore how our world began, about your place in it, or just chill out and soak up the sights and sounds surrounding you, in the busy hectic weeks up to Christmas.
The project was awarded £165,212 in funding from NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.
CosmicSky Productions would like to acknowledge the investment and involvement of NESTA, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts.
